shoes inside my snow boot

English to Persian (Farsi) Art/Literary Poetry & Literature Literature
I was wearing my best dress, a dark-green crêpe, with little pearl buttons and a real lace collar, and had rammed my feet into suède high-heeled shoes inside my snow boots.

I wonder how can somebody ram her feet into shoes inside (!) snow boots?

She liked to be "dressed to kill" (maybe to suit the occasion, to feel like an angel, or...). Although in snow boots, she liked to wear high-heels. How? Ask her!
Note from asker:
Dear Ali, Ii is part of Alice Munro short story named "Amundsen"...can read full text here: http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2012/08/27/amundsen You are right (maybe!) and she likes dressing this way but maybe we cannot get the exact meaning...
