Sorry to be asking so many engineering questions today ;)
I'm translating a a textbook/instructor manual for constructing a handling device.
On the parts list it suddenly says "Treibplatte" - an item which wasn't mentioned anywhere before.
This is the context: "Treibplatte DIN EN 10278 - 12 x 6 x 24 S235JR+C"
Thanks so much for helping out!

thrust plate/drive plate/clutch plate and others
A drive plate is a component of a clutch (Treibplatte/Kupplung).
Sometimes also called a thrust plate. Terms such as clutch thrust plate, clutch pressure plate, clutch disc may be helpful in your search
Clutch plates connect the clutch to the transmission.
Here's an example for a vintage tractor: http://www.yesterdaystractors.com/Ferguson-FE35_Clutch-Press...
For mining drillers: a thrust plate is the upper and/or lower race part of the thrust bearing in the thrust block or cage on the drive rod of a diamond-drill- swivel head.

shows a list of codes for the type of steel it is made from and the dimensions
235 is the minimum yield strength

cold-forming sheet metal
Sheet metal is metal formed by an industrial process into thin, flat pieces. It is one of the fundamental forms used in metalworking and it can be cut and bent into a variety of shapes. Countless everyday objects are constructed with sheet metal. Thicknesses can vary significantly; extremely thin thicknesses are considered foil or leaf, and pieces thicker than 6 mm (0.25 in) are considered plate.

The thickness of 6 mm is sometimes defined as the greatest thickness of sheet and sometimes as the smallest thickness of plate, so you might equally translate Treibplatte as cold-forming plate.
A Sheet of Metal
If a piece of metal has been rolled out to a thickness greater than that of a foil, but is still less than 6mm it is called sheet metal.
...
Metal in Plate Form
Once the metal is more than 6mm thick it is known as plate metal.

: Technically correct as a metallurgical process, plates are indeed "getrieben"

Treiben (Metallbearbeitung)

Note from asker:
Thank you so much for taking the time to provide references, Gudrun, I really appreciate it! Given the fact that i was translating the title of an item on a parts list for an actuator, I decided to go with "drive plate". |
