Comment traduire "screech away" dans la phrase suivante ?
"Forget printing documents, feeding them into a fax machine, typing a number and having to wait for it to screech away as it slowly works its way down that expensive phone line."
Est-ce qu'il s'agit du bruit que fait un fax en partant/arrivant ? Et dans ce cas, pourrait-on parler de grésillement ?

I think this is a suitable term to descrbe that horrid noise that faxes (and formerly modems too!) make if you are unlucky enough to have to listen to it!
