French term

l’abattement applicable à l’imputation des déficits fiscaux antérieurs*

French to English Bus/Financial Finance (general) auditors\' report

It's the last half of the sentance that is blocking me. The best I can do is:
"Corporate tax is calculated on the assumption of a constant result over the 2016 financial period with the reduction for previous tax deficits spread over the year".

Is this what they are saying? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated - deadline is looming!

carry-forward tax loss relief

My edit on the 'hypothetical' assumption of a UK/Irish vs. US target-readership:

"(US) Corporate = (UK) corporation tax is calculated on the assumption of *an even level of earnings over the 2016 financial period and spreading over the year the carry-forward tax loss relief (literally > relief applicable to the allowance for, deduction or offsetting of previous tax losses)".

Example sentence:

A tax loss carryforward takes place where a business or individual reports losses on a tax return up to seven years after the loss occurred.

DEFINITION of 'Loss Carryback' An accounting technique with which a company retroactively applies net operating loss.

a) DR. FISCAL.
Peer comment(s):

disagree Daryo : the ST is about a reduction of the taxable amount, not of the amount of tax // you can't merrily confuse what is being taxed and the tax itself - these are related terms for sure, but NOT THE SAME

Did you look at my last attachment? Did you see how a loss carry-forward amounts to a tax deduction?
