the asker wants to know how the word anillas is to be translated. A coil is a spiral with rings. pls. see my Elsevier link.

neutral Margarida Martins Costelha : Your 1st and last references are not about contraceptive devices and I could not access the others. Can you be sure these also apply to the Essure device? Both descriptions I posted mention 2 coils.

I already said the references don't apply to the device. BUT: the Essure device has only *one* coil and the description of the device makes it clear that they are talking about layers of that coil.
