Burnish means polished il me semblerait. Donc vernie ou poncée mais poncée n'est pas utilisée en art

yes you're right. my mistake.
disagree B D Finch : No, burnishing is a physical treatment of the plate after it has been etched, after removal of the varnish and before printing from it.
