Spanish term

empresas acogidas a disposiciones de revalorización

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Finance (general) Financial Statements
Financial Statements

I understand the last part of this phrase to mean "revaluation provisions" but I'm not 100% sure if "acogidas a" means "protected by" or "with recourse to" or if there is a better option.

Any clarification or other suggestions would be much appreciated.

"Reserva de revalorización de la Ley 16/2012, de 27 de diciembre. Las empresas acogidas a disposiciones de revalorización distintas de la Ley 16/2012 deberán detallar la norma legal en la que se basan."

Discussion

John Rynne Jun 12, 2017:
not accounting "provisions" These "disposiciones" are clauses in some form of legislation. Perhaps best to avoid the word provision here, to avoid confusion with accounting provisions.

Las empresas acogidas a disposiciones de revalorización distintas de la Ley 16/2012 deberán detallar la norma legal en la que se basan.

Companies/Enterprises subject to revaluation provisions other than those specified in Law 16/2012 must indicate the legal regulations on which this is based.

businesses benefiting from the revaluation provisions

acogidas implies that the businesses were:
1) eligible (= covered by the dispositions);
2) applied to have the revaluation applied to their business;
and
3) their applications were successful, with the result that they are now “beneficiaries” of the dispositions.
