English term

enrich

English to Japanese Other Other
Should the “enrich” in this sentence be corrected to "be enriched"?

"PDL1 status was evaluated in all three trials and was consistently shown to enrich for patients who have a higher likelihood of benefit".

I believe an expression "shown to enrich" in the above sentence is grammatically incorrect because "enrich" is a transitive verb, not intransitive. Is it correct?

I agree that it reads strangely and sounds a bit off but as it's talking about the status of protein enrichment (タンパク質の濃縮), it's not incorrect.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "I did not know that "enrich" can be used as a intransitive word when describing the status of protein enrichment. It was very helpful to me. Thanks a lot. "

濃度が高い

高い濃度を示したということでしょう。 To enrich for を to be rich amongにしたら分かりやすいと思います。
