This is a new development by Shimbui Parts in an effort to reduce inventory by having one part take the place of two.
The picture on their website show Macpherson type struts, not shock absorbers.
The left and right struts are tune (adjusted) differently because of the extra weight on the drivers side.
Of course 'ambidextrous' is perfectly good, but that is certain to be shortened to just 'ambi shocks'.
