Hi.
Does anyone know what these abbreviations are?
They seem to be common in statute citations contained in court filings from Puerto Rico, but I don't know if they're Spanish or Latin.
In any case, they don't seem to crop up in English (aside from English translations of Puerto Rican documents), so I don't think I can leave them untranslated.
Here's an example:
"...según tipificado en el Art. 106 del Código Penal de 2004, 33 LPRA ***ant. sec.*** 4734, y cargos por violación al Art. 5.04 de la Ley de Armas de Puerto Rico (Ley de Armas), 25 LPRA sec. 458c."

"Ant" could mean "anterior(mente)" or "antigua", but I couldn't find the exact meaning.

Cuando se mencione una sección derogada, y que así aparezca en el tomo vigente de LPRA al momento de la certificación de la opinión, se usará la forma ―ant. sec.‖
