Note-(v)A/observe,notice;give attention to;B/record as a thing to be remembered or observed;C/be well known.
So, I used the C meaning, and actually it's the same in Russian.Before you sign, you have to know what they "are talking about"(writing)and be sure that you are sharing this point of view(or statement ,or whatever).
