Merger Proposal
This appears in a list of assets and liabilities (as an exhibit to a merger proposal for 2 companies in Peru), within the section Non-Current Assets. Other items in this section include Property/Plant/Equipment (Propiedad, planta y equipos is used), Tax Prepayments, and Taxes differed on assets. Seems like a short form of "Activos por uso," making me think of assets depreciated due to (natural) wear and tear (which usually would be in other sections of the balance sheet, to my knowledge), but something is not clicking right as non-current assets include only natural resources, tangible and intangible assets. Any thoughts?

Right of use assets
It could be short for "activos por derecho de uso" (Right of Use (ROU) assets)

Where does ROU asset go on balance sheet?
In addition, ROU assets are presented as noncurrent in the lessee's balance sheet, consistent with how other amortizing assets such as PP&E are presented.

This very well might be the case. Thank you |

: This looks like it has to do with IFRS 16. I think it was poorly expressed in the source language.

Discussion
Use of Assets does not make sense as an item of Non-Current Assets - as this section only involves either natural resources, tangible assets, and intangible assets (as per accounting conventions). With the possibility that the original might be a short form of "Activos por uso," this is very close to the Spanish terms "Demérito por uso" and "uso y degaste" which precisely mean wear and tear (as I mentioned in the original posting).
