segmentarismo

FVA Spanish to English Medical Medical: Cardiology
ecografía [date]: DVI severa, DTD de [xxx], segmentarismos más marcados en la cara posterolateral-inferior, IM severa...

I am unclear how to translate "segmentarismos" with "marcados" here.

I see "segmentarismo" is sometimes used to talk about ST segment elevation but that is on an EKG, not an echocardiogram as in this case (right?) In this case is it referring to the heart segments? Would it be something like "more affected segments"? Am I along the right lines here? Any comments appreciated.

Anne Schulz Dec 8, 2022:
In the question at Translator's Cafe, "segmentarismo" actually also occurs within the Echo findings, and the wording is in fact very similar. Could it be a particular way of a particular doctor, to talk about asynchrony between wall segments? Some people like to divert or re-purpose words.
Amy Merrill (asker) Dec 7, 2022:
I am not 100% clear about this, hence the question. I believe broadly that an EKG is used to measure electrical activity and an ECHO is used to measure structure/function but I am not clear exactly how they overlap. This is why I am not clear what 'segmentarismo' is referring to in the context of an ECHO.

I'm not a medic, but aren't an echo and an ECG different ways of getting the same information?
Amy Merrill (asker) Dec 7, 2022:
Yes, I found that entry but wasn't totally happy with the discussion on there as it seems to be referring to EKG rather than ultrasound and this does clearly state that it is from an ecografía.

Someone asked an almost identical question here: http://www.translatorscafe.com/tcterms/en-US/question.aspx?i...
Is that just coincidence?
