This is a segment from a strange surrealist short story about Barcelona, and the excerpt in question is an ironic observation on what I think to be flirting habits. My question is how to translate such a slangy term in all its mutations here (with the exception of pillar cacho, which appears in a separate question):
" 01:00. Es la hora en la que se pilla en Barcelona. La ciudad, subsector Bikini, se aplica al tema. En Barcelona, subsector Bikini, el tema es problemático. Si visitan el Museu de Història de la Ciutat verán, como rareza histórica, el cadáver disecado de Meritxell Puigdecabanes, la ultima señorita que pilló cacho por la cara, 1835."

Thanks, Elvira. That's the literal meaning, yes... In this case it's slang, but I haven't been able to find any references.
