I see this word coming up a lot in Arabic legal documents, and I am not sure whether it should be translated as "maintain," "assert," "insist on," "plead for," "demand," "request," etc... Is there an established way of translating this in legal documents?
Here is the sentence:
تتمسك الشركة المدعية الأولى بعدم اختصاص القضاء الكويتي بنظر الدعوى لوجود شرط التحكيم
