"Net player" viittaa tenniksen pelaajaan (oikeassa pelissä), joka pelaa verkon läheisyydessä ts. verkkopelaajaan. Vastavuoroisesti puhutaan kenttäpelaajasta (court player). Eli tekstissä sanotaan, että suurin osa verkkopelaajista lyö palloa liian lujaa lyödessään verkolta poikkilyöntejä.
