All available order release parts are tracked by serial numbers

Homework / test English to French Bus/Financial Accounting ERP software
Hi!

In the context of an ERP software, I struggle with "order release parts"

Are those "release parts" upon "order"? Best guess so far,

TIA!

I agree entirely with your suggestion which is for sure a very reasonable "educated guess" - far from dismissing it.

I'm only pointing out that *sometimes* when you get the full picture, it turns out that the first "guess" was completely out of tune, even if it looked like a solid "educated guess".

So more context is needed.

@ Daryo I wouldn't dismiss my discussion suggestion as "no more than a guess" — it's certainly an informed guess, based on wide exposure to the commercial EN used in this kind of document;
Furthermore, it's actually quite hard to imagine what other possible alternatives there are that would be correctly using this kind of syntax.
Daryo Mar 1, 2021:
Agree that's how you would interpret it without more context - but it's no more than a guess.

Can't remember now any specific example, but occasionally when you get the full context, what looked initially as a "reasonable assumption" turns out to be hopelessly wrong.

@ Asker It's extremely difficult to know without having a lot more context to work with.
My GUESS would be that it is parts that are 'released' in order to be sold — in other words, parts that are available to fulfil orders; that would be my instinctive interpretation of the word order here, but it doesn't preclude other possibilities!
