"Prep Electronic Drive Unit For Insertion
To aid in the insertion and potential removal of the Electronic Drive Unit from the tube, spray the
the black rubber coupler at the end of the Electronic Drive Unit with Silicon Spray.

Note: Rubber can become lodged in the tube and come off the Electronic Drive Unit if it needs to be taken out of the tube."

...can you explain in other words what may happen to this rubber?

agree Ken Cox : Stuck -- i.e., the rubber can become stuck to the inside of the tube. The silicon*e* spray acts as a lubricant to help prevent this.
