Stefanie Sendelbach Apr 13, 2006:
I have seen these hooks being used in China. So there must be a term for it. Maybe you can post a monolingual Chinese question, showing the pictures to our Chinese colleagues. Hopefully someone knows the correct Chinese term.

Thank you Stefanie! Thank you so mcuh for your valuable time spent in helping me! Now it seems that I understand it. But I have to find an appropriate Chinese word for it. :-)
Stefanie Sendelbach Apr 13, 2006:
The Bolzen in this case is the little bolt that you press down. This way the hook opens and you can enter the leash into it. When you release the bolt, the leash is prevented from escaping the hook.

Hi Jianming, have a look at the picture in this link. It shows the differences to other hooks very clearly: http://www.schermaschinen.com/shop/index.html?target=dept_44...

Thank you Stefanie! I really do not know. Does it has a spring? I have never kept a dog.

弹簧钩

Hi Jianming,

Have a look at these pictures: http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=bolzenhaken&sa=N&tab... They will give you a clear impression about what a "Bolzenhaken" is.

I am not sure how it is called in Chinese. "Bolzen" is usually translated as 螺栓. But this kind of hook should rather be called something like 弹簧钩 in Chinese, no? What do you think?
Peer comment(s):

agree Wenjer Leuschel (X) : Right. Usually, we call it 扣鉤 or 彈簧鉤. It is fixed at the end of a dog leash for connecting and being securely latched to the picker of a dog collar.
