effekterhöhende Kabinenbehandlung bei Ihrer Fachkosmetikerin

Deutsch > Englisch Medizin Kosmetik, Schönheitspflege Fruit acid skin treatment
"Makellose Haut - in nur 8 Wochen

Hautverfeinernde Fruchtsäurekur mit 'AHA Effekt'

Heimpflege - 10 % Fruchtsäureanteil

Effekterhöhende Kabinenbehandlung bei Ihrer Fachkosmetikerin"

From a small text about a skin treatment with fruit acids. I'm having a lot of difficulty with the sentence I'm asking about:

Effekterhöhend - Highly effective? Effect-enhancing?
Kabinenbehandlung - No idea; found "salon treatment" in a dict.cc forum discussion, but that doesn't seem to fit with "Heimpflege"
Fachkosmetikerin - Specialist beautician?

TIA for helping me eliminate the wrinkles and create a smooth, unblemished translation here! :-)

Your proffessional beautician can enhance the effect with a private salon treatment.

Heimpflege is something you do at home.
Then the next line refers to having it done at the beauticians
Kabinenbehandlung refers to a privatly dealt with issue- not in the window of a beauty parlor, (it can be a seperate room or behind curtains, etc )
The reason it is effect enhancing might be the concentration or application - does not say but the proffesisonal beautician has something to do with it
By the way, it is bei ihrer - not von ihrer that means at the beauty parlor or something like that where proffessionals work

agree David Williams : This seems the closest/most plausible solution for Kabinenbehandlung so far.

get enhanced results from a chamber treatment applied by an expert beautician

Hi Rowan,
I like your 'effect enhancing‘ suggestion.

One translation for Kabinen is 'chamber' -- spas use it to describe their infrared sauna "Kabinen", for example. You might ask your client what they mean by it -- ask for a description or a picture.

I take it that the treatment is more intensive thru the use of 1) a more highly concentrated acid solution (?) applied by the specialist and 2) by the use of the mysterious "chamber"...?

And someone who is "Fach-XYZ" can also be described as an "expert", or if you don't want to go that far, 'experienced' would work too.

"get enhanced results from a chamber treatment applied by an expert beautician" would be another option perhaps --

HTH,
Beth in Salzburg

Uh-OH! ;-)
Glad I could help -- and HEY, depending on its size, I think Tilman's 'booth' suggestion is a hit too.
Hope you're done frowning soon. :-)

agree Ingeborg Gowans (X) : very good suggestion; I was frowning so much at my computer today (with my project) that I could do with some skin enhancing treatment right now :)

disagree David Williams : Chamber doesn't really sound right for Kabinenbehandlung.

Private booth treatments by your professional beautician will improve results.

I think this is a decent English sentence and it gets at the gist of the German message.

I'd like to amend my answer. It should read *Private room treatments* instead of the *booth* version I submitted earlier. Check: Millcroft Spa incorporates 17 treatment areas (including 11 private treatment rooms), private men’s and women’s locker facilities with herbal steams and ...

You're right, I think *booth* is not the correct term.
