Так и сказа(ну)л. "3+1" - это ж нарочно не придумаешь! Трое в лодке, ... ... . Впрочем, вряд ли он понимал, о чём говорил.

I hoped it would refer to the Customs Union consisting of three member states generally, not personally or specifically about the presidents of the three countries .:)

Мне кажется, что Three Stooges о президентах трех стран - это немного слишком (ИМХО) :))

Three Stooges - too frivolous? If looking for a translation maintaining the humorous note (as the book was), possibly "Three Stooges" (the American comic team) would be appropriate? As far as I understand, the actions of the three entities described in the article had poor results, just as clumsy actions of the three stooges on the stage. American readers generally are not familiar with the book Three Men in a Boat, but most everyone knows the Three Stooges...
