Discussion

Naikei Wong Apr 2, 2007:
something like... "like a legion of sails each vying for a niche/place in the sea"... kinda wordy...
Denyce Seow (asker) Apr 1, 2007:
@NK: Metaphorical. :)
Naikei Wong Apr 1, 2007:
Hi Denyce, is this supposed to be literal or metaphorical?

all are ready for a dash

or: all are ready to set sail, all are ready for the finish line
Peer comment(s):

agree Huijun Suo : "Set sail" seems suitable only for excercises on water (by the navy, for example), if it's the case. If there are no marine exercises, the original sound a bit strange. Then 千军竞发 may be better.
