FARS is a ***direct reflection sensor*** with adjustable background suppression. It is possible to adjust the maximum sensing distance in a range between 30 and 130 mm through the lateral trimmer.
The sensing area will be included between the set up maximum distance and a minimum distance. The minimum sensing distance is the blind zone and its value changes between 25 mm and 0 in inverse proportion measure to the maximum set up distance as shown on the (blind zone) diagram.
Thanks to a linear position sensor PSD type and to a sophisticated electronic circuit with microprocessor it is possible to keep low value the difference of sensing distance between white 90% and black 6%, that is practically equal to 0 up to a set up distance of 80 mm, 3 mm for a set up distance of 100 mm and 10 mm for a set up distance of 130 mm.
