"Le brassage. Le brassage consiste à connecting le produit au réseau du Client".

That's all the context I have, I'm afraid.

Strikes me "connecting" wouldn't be wrong but just wondered if anyone knows another term.

In audio terms, 'brassage' would be mixing, but that's pretty unlikely for computer signals (!).

My educated guess would be that it refers to some kind of 'patching' system --- at its simplest, a series of sockets with cables that enable you to plug different things together to suit specific configurations --- think of an old fashioned manual telephone exchange; this sort of thing is very common in technical applications like stage lighting, audio, TV etc., and is certainly found too in IT applications.

If the patching (= interconnections) is more sophisticated, achieved say by switching, rather than actual removable cables, then 'routing' would indeed be a better term to use.

Well I\'ve learned some things from your Q anyway :-)
I\'m left with the feeling that it really depends on the level of your \"IT document\". If it\'s one of those vague high-level things, or possibly a user requirements spec or similar, then I reckon a vague, high-level \"integration\" type of response is needed. If it\'s dealing with the technical nitty-gritty of a situation, my answer is clearly wrong and you need one of the more technical specific answers. It\'s hard to say which is your case, although if it\'s at the technical level, I would venture to suggest that it\'s being \"dumbed down\" a bit - cross-connection is connecting the product to the customer\'s network - gee, thanks, that explains *everything* :-)
