Estoy traduciendo la letra de una canción:
"Mi piel que arde
aunque no estás cerca
Mis labios que anhelan
**tu sola presencia**
Mi alma te llama
con dulce cadencia
Mi mente te ansía
y mi voluntad se quiebra"
¿Estaría bien "your simple presence"?
"Mi piel que arde
aunque no estás cerca

**tu sola presencia**
Mi alma te llama
con dulce cadencia
Mi mente te ansía
y mi voluntad se quiebra"
¿Estaría bien "your simple presence"?

Comment: "Muchas gracias a todos. Me quedo con esta sugerencia que, si bien le da una vuelta a la oración, me facilita la métrica y la rima"

only your presence
sole no es simple; diría que es más cerca de "only". También, en el caso de una canción deberás tener en cuenta el número de sílabas y la asonancia de lo que usas para el resto del verso.

your presence alone
Since this is a poem, it requires a poetic tone in the translation.

Barbara Cochran, MFA
: I like this, too. Good point about the need to retain a poetic tone.

Rolando Julio Arciniega
: "Your mere presence" and Your sole presence " sounds stilted and does not flow as well. I'd stick with "Your presence alone".
