English term

....and that each of them,....

English to German Law/Patents Law (general) Urkunden
I, ..., Marriage Officer hereby certify taht on the .... of ...., .... and ... appeared before me and that each of them, in my presence and in the presence of three witnesses who have signed hereunder the declarations required by section 11 and that a marriage under this Act was solemnized between them in my presence.

I know what it means, but I do not see to what "that each of them" refers to, because the "who have signed" refers to the witnesses and the presence of the Marriage O. appears twice (appeared in my presence and ...between them in my presence). The sentence translated literally makes no sense to me as there is no end to the the phrase ".. that each of them ...." what did each of them do? I'm happy for any help that makes it a little clearer to me.

1 word too many or one word missing

I think the sentence is missing something or has a word too many. I see two possible versions:

I, ..., Marriage Officer hereby certify taht on the .... of ...., .... and ... appeared before me and that each of them, in my presence and in the presence of three witnesses, have signed hereunder the declarations required by section 11 and that a marriage under this Act was solemnized between them in my presence.

A comma after 'witnesses' and striking out 'who' would make sense.

I, ..., Marriage Officer hereby certify taht on the .... of ...., .... and ... appeared before me and that each of them, in my presence and in the presence of three witnesses who have signed hereunder, "signed" the declarations required by section 11 and that a marriage under this Act was solemnized between them in my presence.

Comma after hereunder and inserting a 'missing' verb.

und, dass jeder Einzelner

I think it just means that each of the persons getting married, i.e. ..... and ....... appearing before the marriage officer and the three witnesses signed in their (collective) presence.

the on the.... of..... is a date! then ...... and ...... refer to persons. this is how I see it.
Note from asker:
I know that ... is a date and then a name, cause I have the date and names (just left it out for the sake of anonimity of my client). My question was regarding the "that each of them.." Nevertheless thanks for replying

... and ...

It refers to the parties you have in the ... and ...
If they are the witnesses then the sentence makes absolutely no sense because it mentions the witnesses in two part of the same sentence as if they were different people.

it is obvious that the 'who' should not be there, since the ... and ... signed for the marriage to be entered into. Furthermore, if the 'who' referred to the witnesses then the marriage "solemnized" would be between the witnesses - impossible
