Explanation:
I opened a forum topic for this discussion because of lack of enough space, as you see above, but it is seemingly not allowed to discuss Kudoz topics in Forums. I therefore mention my point of view as a separate answer.
In the proposed answer by Mr. Sadeghieh, there are suggestions as Farsi equivalents for "Podcast", such as پادپخش and پادنشر.

Mr. Sadeghieh mentioned words such as آی پاد for "iPod" and believes this could be a reason to construct words like پادپخش and پادنشر.
Please note, Mr. Sadeghieh, that پاد in آی پاد is not used as prefix (the same usage in Farsi which means "anti-"), so there would be no misunderstanding for Farsi readers. But constructing a combination such as پادپخش undoubtedly delivers the meaning of ضد پخش for Farsi readers, and it is not our choice to change this meaning, just upon our assumptions as a translator.
I agree with Mr. Sadeghieh that some words can be constructed by using foreign words, such as یونش or وب گردی (and thanks to Mr. Sadeghieh for mentioning another term پاد اکسایش which has the same meaning as I mentioned before), but the forgotten point here, I think, is that all those words has no similar equivalent in Farsi to cause any misunderstanding, I mean یونش would not lead the reader to any other meaning.

Raising the different meanings of شیر in Farsi has no connection with the subject, I suppose, because we are talking about "inventing" a new word in Farsi, not the words already available in Farsi language.

As a whole, I believe that making such misguiding words as Farsi equivalents for foreign terms would not be appropriate.

I will be more than happy to have your point of view in this regard.

Thank you.

neutral  Hamid Sadeghieh: Here again I should stress that the point I really want to emphasize is that the English term should not be borrowed, in this case; because the term will be used in variety of senses and grammatical positions in future. I should like to see a PERSIAN word

-> I understand your concern my friend, but there are some limitations in using foreign words along with the Persian ones, and that causes the problem. Maybe using "all English" or "all Persian" is OK anyway, but we must be careful with the hybrid terms!

پادپخش

Explanation:
"Podcasting, a portmanteau of Apple's "iPod" and "broadcasting", is a method of publishing files to the Internet, allowing users to subscribe to a feed and receive new files automatically by subscription, usually at no cost. It first became popular in late 2004, used largely for audio files."

This term is no more a proper name; it is a method. There is no equivalence coined for this method in Persian. The translator is strongly encouraged to suggest a Persian word him- or herself in order for this English term not to become popular in Persian vocabulary.

I suggest the following:
پادنشر
پادپخش
آواپخش
آوانشر
پخش نماهنگ
نماهنگستان
...

"پاد" is, truly, an affix in Persian meaning "anti-". But, imagine we have borrowed the term "پادکست" from English, and now we want to use it as a verb in Persian. "پادکست کردن" will be the verb for "to podcast". We already have "کست کردن" in highly technical literature of communication studies. Now what? don't you think the same miss-interpretation may occur to a Persian speaker who is unaware of English structure and believes "پاد" only means "ضد"? don't you think it's better to let the term "پادپخش" be fossilized as refering to a fact and/or action in the context of IT and Communication. Notice that the "پخش کردن" is already sugessted (and is getting popular) for "to cast". In lexicology, we are allowed to use some fossilized foriegn terms in combination with Persian structures. Here "پاد" refers to the same "pod" as in "آیپاد". Since "پاد" is a known and fossilized foriegn term for the Persian speakers, we can use it this structure. There are other many other words coined in this way:

neutral  Mohammad Reza Razaghi: Please note that ”پاد“ in Farsi means "anti-" (as پادزهر for example), so پادپخش or پادنشر would be meaningless in this regard.

-> what is the meaning of "شیر" in Farsi, Mr. Razaghi? I see words in context, not in isolation.

neutral  Rahi Moosavi: Agree with Mr. Razaghi on this, using پاد is not appropriate in this case and the rest of your localization suggestions really don't convey the true meaning as they are general and could be very easily confused with other concepts.

-> As you see, I've left the group open. The point I really want to emphasize is that the English term should not be borrowed in Farsi, in this case; because the term will be used a variety of senses and grammatical positions in future.
