If this is from The Onion (http://www.theonion.com/content/node/29002) then it's definitely 'awareness' and not 'risk' - basically, if you take aspirin and get yourself drunk, you won't notice you're having a heart attack. Needless to say, it's a satirical/fictional story :)

Creo que es justo al revés, no "riesgo", pues imaginemos tomar una aspirina (o cualquier otra medicina), ¡junto con una botella de whisky o licor, todos los días! Eso no nos salvaría de un ataque al corazón, sino que nos daría uno muy grande. Por eso pienso que podría ser más bien que alguien que hace eso, no percibe, no está lo suficientemente concientizado para saber que va a ocurrirle.

Quedaría así la frase:

"Tomar una aspirina diariamente con una botella de bourbon (whisky americano) reduce la toma de conciencia/concientización/percepción de sufrir un ataque cardíaco"

Aquí encontré un artículo que trata este tema y creo que está mal expresado porque dice: "were 85 percent less likely to realize they were having a heart attack than subjects who did not take aspirin with bourbon"... nunca sufrí un ataque cardíaco pero creo que es imposible que ese episodio pase inadvertido. El artículo justamente trata de la disminución de los riesgos.
