(b) Rock Drilling Equipments and Tools
The Contractor shall submit to HT for approval, a method statement to identify the start of rock level based on the drilling machine and tools used at site.
If required trial drilling should be carried out and witness by HT’s representative.
The Contractor shall proposed and identified appropriate drilling machine and drilling tools for rock drilling at the project site in accordance with the job specification.
For drilling into and through rock, rock-drilling tools shall be applied.
These shall include rock augers, core barrels with round shank, stolen or roller bit and where necessary, chisels.
Chisels shall not be used for breaking the competent rock at the entire designed rock socket length.

D'apres ce que je comprends, la rock socket serait un forage dans la roche destine a recevoir des fondations de piles par exemple. Ici on demande de ne pas utiliser de trepan pour demolir les roches competentes qui se trouvent sur toute la longueur de la zone d'ancrage dans la roche.

Relatif aux couches les moins déformables dans une série stratifiée et qui jouent un rôle actif durant la déformation.
