French term

étayé

French to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general)
The sentence is:

o dossiers prévisionnels Janvier 2009 à Décembre 2011 et de Janvier 2009 à Décembre 2012 étayé voir documents joints

I asked the client what this meant, his response:

en fait, le dossier de Jan 2009 à Dec 2012 est synthétique et celui de Jan 2009 à Dec 2001 est complet

The sentence is in the context of a list of appendices for a buy-out plan for a company that makes tiny high-tech components.

Discussion

lestertrad Feb 13, 2009:
On second thought, if only one of the dossiers is complete with supporting documents, then it should be singular.
lestertrad Feb 13, 2009:
by the way, I agree that it probably should be _étayés_
lestertrad Feb 13, 2009:
with supporting documents An _étai_ is a stay in English - a line or rope supporting an object, eg a mast. So these would be dossiers with supporting documents.
polyglot45 Feb 13, 2009:
shouldn't there be an 's on "étayés"?
