I can't make head or tail of the clause in asterisks. Any assistance would be hugely appreciated.

An Ware herrscht kein Mangel, wie die Einkäufer zum Teil freudig, zum Teil zähneknirschend berichten. Dabei sind speziell die Marktführer in die Kritik geraten. agree  Paul Cohen: Yes, this is probably the explanation that the asker is looking for. "Fueled by" would work fine. P.S. I wouldn't say "brands industries" for "Markenindustrie" -- perhaps just major brands or leading brands.
