German term or phrase: "W" and "C" (on an x-ray image)
On a diagnostic radiology report (in German, from a Swiss hospital), under the x-ray image of the leg itself and the title "Unterschenkel lat." are the abbreviations:
W: 4096, C: 2048
MAG: 19%

I can't tell what "W" and "C" stand for, other than some measurement of the x-ray strength, perhaps?
I presume that "MAG" stands for magnification.

Thank you in advance for any help!

English translation:W= (spectral) width, C= centre/center
Explanation:
I notice one website mentioning width and center as well as an array pixel of 4096 x 4096. I assume 4096 here refers to the width of the array, and C is the center. 4096 also refers to the gray level of the pixel.

  • In radiology, 4096 (212) grayvalues are usual and also some microscopic techniques have this resolution.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thank you - this makes sense, as I suspected this was not diagnostic info at all, but technical info about the x-ray itself. Unfortunately there is no other info on the x-ray film itself to go on.

neutral  whosthatgirl: Pls provide additional info.Is the film a radiograph(x-ray),CT, MRI, etc? A CT/MRI is more likely to have a pixel range but a x-ray typically doesn't. If u can disclose the TYPE of study aside from the description "lower lat",it would help.
