colonne de direction de v
Good afternoon,
L’invention propose une colonne de direction réglable au moins axialement et apte à absorber l’énergie générée sur toute la course de rétraction du tube-corps, et dont le nombre de pièces est réduit.
My translation :
The invention aims to remedy to the issues of the aforementioned prior art by proposing an adjustable steering column at least axially and able to absorb the energy generated on the entire retraction course/stroke of the tubular body, and whereof the number of pieces is reduced.

movement
In this context 'movement' is probably the word. This decribes the complete cycle of the tube in question, whether it be 2 or 4-stroke. Indeed, 'cycle' might also fit.
So my translation might read:
"...creating an axially-adjustable steering column capable of absorbing the energy generated by the entire movement of the outer tube, and thereby reducing the number of parts needed."

Yes, yes, retraction movement. I left out retraction by mistake.
