spontaneous Explanation: You may have spontaneous pains -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2012-02-21 14:06:21 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I think in most cases both terms can be used, and yet in my opinion there is a slight difference: though "idiopathic" literally means "spontaneous", it is used to mean either "arising spontaneously" or "arising from an obscure or unknown cause", while "spontaneous" is straightforward and means only "self-triggered", like Armenian "ինքնաբուխ".
