Mon hypothèse irréaliste est que le texte a déjà été traduit du français à l'anglais, mais que le traducteur FR>EN ignorait le sens de s/b et l'a laissé tel quel.
Ce qui me chiffonne est l'absence d'unité à "10-35". Le rapport signal sur bruit étant comme son nom l'indique un rapport, l'absence d'unité s'expliquerait.

It seems scarcely plausible, and I have certainly never seen it abbreviated thus! But at the same time, it would make perfect sense in the position and expression.
