To overcome the lack of tissue specificity observed in GSEA, the perturbations of molecular pathways induced by MS exposure were investigated by leveraging a collection of tissue-specific computational network models we have recently published.
Cell Proliferation Network (Westra et al., 2011), Cell Stress Network (Schlage et al., 2011), DNA Damage, Autophagy, Cell Death (Apoptosis, Necroptosis), and Senescence (DACS) Networks (Gebel et al., 2013), and the Pulmonary Inflammatory Processes Network (Westra et al., 2013) were built on the basis of a priori knowledge of cause-and-effect relationships to assess the biological impact of a variety of stressors including mainstream smoke (вдыхаемый дым), and were mainly derived from non-diseased mammalian pulmonary and cardiovascular tissues using *systems biology data sets*.
While these cause-and-effect network models can be used as an exploratory tool to qualitatively identify relevant perturbed biological mechanisms, additional approaches have been developed to quantify these mechanisms, i.e., the relative strength of the perturbations (Network Perturbation Amplitude, NPA) and the overall impact on the biological system (Biological Impact Factor, BIF).

варианты:

1) массивы данных по биологии систем [организма]
2) биологические массивы данных по системам [организма]
3) массивы данных по биологической активности в отношении систем [организма, а именно — дыхательной и сердечно-сосудистой] (учитывая контекст: We demonstrated reduced biological activity of a prototypic modified risk tobacco product (pMRTP); to assess the biological impact of a variety of stressors including mainstream smoke)

Что-то к третьему варианту больше всего склоняюсь... Пока такие только предположения...

Explanation:
Странно написано, это однозначно. Может быть предлог of пропущен после systems.
Тогда выходит, что это "системы наборов биллогических данных". Но я правда не уверен. Но логически вроде получается, что использовали эти системы.

Вариант.
"systems biology" перепутали местами. Тогда это наборы данных биологических систем, и уже тогда вовсе это не система наборов, а биологическая система, что совсем другое. Но сложно утверждать. С точки зрения правильного построения фразы - это набор слов.
