parenchymal window

Explanation:
This has to do with CT. One can set up the CT acquisition so that it provide maximum detail of either soft tissues or bones, but not both at the same time. These settings are called parenchymal window (trame parenchymateuse) and bone window (trame osseuse), respectively. Other types of window are also possible.
Physically, it's like exposure in photography - you can expose your photo to give good detail of the darkest spots or the brightest ones.

disagree  Nicolas Gambardella: In the provided context, I do not think this refers to the scan but rather to the tissu.

parenchymal scaffold

Explanation:
I think the context definitely refers to the tissue, not the set-up of the CT scan. Lattice would be a good translation. However, it fits better with plant tissue than lung (plant parenchym is more regular). In lung pathology, the word "scaffold" is often used.

Example sentence(s):
  • The rationale is that fibrosis acts as a parenchymal scaffold that imparts rigidity.
  • Airflow limitation will then reflect non-muscular airway collapse, secondary to the loss of the parenchymal scaffold, mucus plugging and airway wall thickening.

neutral  Anton Konashenok: 'parenchymal scaffold' is not a term, in both of your cases it's an ad hoc wording for a phenomenological description; conversely, the actual structure that provides this 'scaffolding' is properly called stroma.

  -> No. "Stroma" is like "parenchyma". It is a tissue. "Trame" is the structure. In building work, "trame" is actually "scaffold". And here, we are talking about the structure, not the tissue.
