English translation:units of leukoreduced (leukodepleted) red blood cells
Explanation:
The 'U' is probably 'unità'. Then ECF = emazie concentrate filtrate = leukoreduce/depleted red blood cells.

Explanation:
UECF = unità emazie concentrate filtrate - (units of) filtered packed red blood cells

"ECF (filtrate o leucodeplete) ottenute tramite filtrazione di un’unità di ST e risospese in soluzioni additive hanno durata di conservazione fino a 42 giorni. Il contenuto medio di Hb è non < 40 gr./sacca, i gb sono < 1 x 10 e6/sacca."

"A 49‐year‐old mother of two children with liver cirrhosis was scheduled for liver transplantation. HPA‐1a antibodies had been detected 2 years earlier. In the preceding year she had received 14 units of filtered packed red blood cells (PRBC), which were unmatched for the HPA system, during surgery for a duodenal ulcer. No platelet concentrates (PC) were transfused."

neutral  Joseph Tein: Ciao Fiona! I agree with the expansion of UECF, but I'm not sure that PRBC is the right initialism for this in English. The 'P' stands for "packed" and here I think it's a different type of transfusion -- as you posted, filtered or depleted.
