Asker: "Parcourir" est effectivement le seul mot que j'avais trouvé et qui se rapproche du terme "walk", qui convient également pour la deuxième expression "Walk the plant". Vous me confortez dans mon idée, merci ;)

I'm under the impression that the data are more to be created and picked up and made relevant than just existing data to be "scanned for"... I may be wrong, though. "parcourir" sounds more passive an activity than "walking" is, imho.
