The role of Advocacy is to ensure the children’s voices are heard. In this case, specifically for the FGC (Family Group Conference) meeting. In some cases, direct Advocacy is not possible, and this can be for a number of reasons. When this happens, instead of speaking directly with the children, the Advocate will highlight their rights, and make an appeal for all the people involved with these children to look at their rights and to ensure that these rights are being upheld, as this can be a good indicator of where things are needing improvement or not.
