Chinese term or phrase: 一间间
This comes up in a text about a photojournalist. At a time when photojournalists were doing a lot of self reflection, some photographers started to come together to form groups and the first photo agencies (such as Dalmas) were born. I'm not sure if 一间间 implies one photo agency or several - I would have thought several, but I am not sure.
Context:
作为创作者,如何维护自身的权益与自由?
在这些探讨中,摄影师们纷纷聚集起来,一间间图片社也应运而生。
雷蒙 · 德巴东正是在这样的时代踏上了职业与创作之路。
Thanks in advance for any help clarifying this.

English translation:Many
Explanation:
一间间,一个个,一堆堆,.... In Chinese, when a “classifier” is repeated, it means "many".
Example:
走在红灯区的路上,你会看到一间间的按摩院,外面有一个个穿着性感的小姐在拉生意。
Walking along the streets of the red light district, you can see many massage parlors. Girls dressed in sexy outfits standing outside trying to bring in customers.

一间间图片社也应运而生。
Many photo agencies were formed (like a trend of the time).

agree  fishinwater: One after another👍, the repeated 間 (or the repetitive character of a quantifier in general) implies multiplication therefore plural. The photo agencies mushroomed/sprouted up one after another, and among those came the (incredible hulk)!

一间间图片社
one photo agency after another

Explanation:
一间间 相当于 一家家=一家又一家(比如:一家公司a company)
这里的间、家都是量词,英语里不翻,一个量词(e.g.一间、一家、一朵、一只)是singular,两个量词(e.g.一间间、一家家、一朵朵【花】、一只只【羊】)是plural
一间间图片社也应运而生
one photo agency after another have come into being successively
这里的一间间,既体现出数量多,也体现出时间上的相继发生(接二连三successively or in succession)
