English to German: Clinical Considerations for the Trigeminal Nerve
Source text - English Clinical Considerations for the Trigeminal Nerve
Damage to one of the divisions of the trigeminal nerve leads to pain, tingling, or numbness from the skin supplied by this division. Damage to V1 may result in loss of the corneal reflex (the blink that occurs when the cornea is touched). Damage to V3 will cause weakness or paralysis of chewing muscles. Since people are exquisitely sensitive to improper alignment of teeth during chewing, such weaknesses or paralyses are always symptomatic. Wasting of the temporalis and masseter may be seen. Unilateral paralysis of the lateral pterygoid causes the jaw to deviate to the ipsilateral side on opening the mouth.
Translation - German Klinische Betrachtungen des Nervus Trigeminus

Years of experience: 18. Registered at ProZ.com: Feb 2007.
I have a degree in Nursing from a German nursing school, and degrees from US universities in Health Information Management and Environmental Sciences (concentration in Waste Management). My translation expertise lies in the health, medical, and waste management fields.
The college courses I took in the United States, combined with my German nursing education and hospital work experience, have provided me with considerable terminology in the fields of science and medicine, in both English and German.
Furthermore, I am interested in holistic and alternative medical therapies, and have intermediate-level knowledge in homeopathy, aromatherapy, Bach flower therapy, herbal remedies, and nutrition.
My college records testify to my aspiration for excellence. In my profession as a nurse I always treated my patients with integrity, respect and compassion. I apply the same ethical standards to my translation/interpretation work and customers.
