Fruit acid skin treatment
I'm extremely puzzled by the way in which Pflege is being used in my little text about fruit acid treatment. Examples:
"Heimpflege - 10 % Fruchtsäureanteil"
"8 Wochen Kur, abends nach gründlicher Reinigung wie eine ***Gesichtspflege*** auftragen."
"Bitte beachten:
-keine zusätzliche ***Nachtpflege*** verwenden.
-kein zusätzliches Peeling benutzen.
-während der Kur sollten Sie es möglichst vermeiden, sich der Sonne und Solarium auszusetzen.
-Eine ***Tagespflege*** mit Lichtschutzfaktor verwenden."
In every case, it seems to me that "Pflege" means lotion or cream. Yet, that is NOT the usual meaning. However, such meanings as "care", "nursing", etc. really don't fit at all.
Does anyone agree that it means lotion or cream here, and have you ever seen it used to mean that before, or is this just some little trick of my text's particular author? TIA for your help.

I agree with you, your author is less than "helpful" in his/her word choices.
I also agree with the others here. We're all headed in the right direction, IMO.
I'd use e.g. "at-home treatment" for 'Heimpflege' (because clearly this is not a salon-applied treatment in that instance), and for the rest, "lotion", "cream" or "application".
I'd ask the client to describe it in more detail to aid the accuracy of your translation.
