disabled person's pass marked G for Gehbehindert (mobility impaired)
Explanation:
I don't think you should be translating G as M, or telling people that the UK equivalent is category 7. This text is describing the system in a German-speaking country.

I think it is a good compromise between English and German, not too long, yet as precise as possible

Disabled Persons Pass, Category 7-equivalent

Explanation:

of course there is a difference. I only wanted to point out that there are also several categories, albeit much less official ones apparently than in Germany. since you as the question's asker are undoubtedly the expert on the subject, you should find the one that is most suitable for you.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Please note, that there is a substanstial difference between Merkzeichen "G" (=these people normally do NOTneed a wheelchair etc., a severe heart desease is enough) and Merkzeichen "aG" (=the ones with the blue wheelchair symbol entititled to use special parking slots )

neutral  philgoddard: This will be meaningless to anyone who's not an expert on disability in the UK. I'm British, and I have no idea what category 7 means.

-> I am German and "Merkzeichen G" is meaningless to me, too. Still, it is in the original and should be included in the translation, I think. Do you agree?
