Considerando que é uma disciplina universitária de metodologia e não a área de pesquisa per se, Research Methods comunica melhor que Scientific Methodology, visto que os cursos já são de ciências per se e que a função do curso no Brasil é além da filosofia do processo científico é também equipar o aluno com o ferramental (methods no plural). Se for de humanas, Qualitative Research Methods, senão quantitative. No pubmed, buscando o termo exato, por exemplo, o termo retorna 252 mil artigos, enquanto que science method retorna 21 mil.
