I chose +30%, but the actual range is somewhere between 50% and 70%. To give one example, cat treats used to cost 80p, and now they're £1.30. According to ChatGPT (because I'm not in this profession for my math skills), that’s an increase of 62.5%. | | | neilmac ספרד Local time: 14:10 מספרדית לאנגלית + ...
I don't know. It's not something I keep track of. | | | Lingua 5B בוסניה והרצגובינה Local time: 14:10 חבר (2009) מאנגלית לקרואטית + ...
About 30-50%. Conversely, quality deteriorated or at best (just some cases) stayed the same.

Interestingly, the price increase was greater in the supermarket than in my organic grocery store.
According to official figures, the price of food in Portugal increased by 20 per cent between January 2022 and January 2023, and it hasn't slowed down since... Portugal and Spain recorded the biggest increases in the cost of agricultural products, both around 33 per cent in the first quarter of 2023. The Eurostat report published in June shows that the two countries recorded the sharpest increases in the European Union. | | | Peter Simon הולנד Local time: 14:10 מאנגלית להונגרית + ...
I haven't the slightest... can't even guess especially because my eating habits keep shifting. | | | Zea_Mays איטליה Local time: 14:10 חבר (2009) מאנגלית לגרמנית + ... Did or will you raise your rates accordingly? | Aug 11, 2024 |
I wonder how many people have updated their rates to cover the general loss of purchasing power? Inflation rarely reverses direction, so these higher prices will continue to go up, not down.
As for me, I haven't raised my rates with existing clients yet because of the difficult global economic situation, but I will do so with new clients.
Instead, I have recently been offered ridiculous rates for EN>DE from EU-based agencies.

Special discounts | Aug 11, 2024 |
As the prices for (good quality) beer have risen since 2022, I still can take advantage of the special discounts the various supermarkets offer here weekly. The same applies to potatoes and I`m curious what will happen to turnips in the autumn. Still not gathering firewood in the forests. No costs whatever to go for work, as the company supplied me with a van. Therefore I'm well prepared to look forward to the times when the surplus of translators has gone and the rates will be reasonable again. | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Poll: How much more do you pay weekly/monthly for groceries today compared to 2022?
