Request - Mentoring

Description: Hello,

I recently returned to the United States after living in Sendai, Japan for about two years. In Sendai, I had the opportunity to do technical translation for a major photography and optics company, legal translation for a small business startup, and marketing translation for a Tohoku regional tourism campaign. All of this work was performed as a part-time in-house translator (I am just getting started with freelance translation, so I ask that you please bear with me as I adjust to the new environment).

I am looking for mentoring in the legal, medical (healthcare or pharmaceuticals), technical (computer hardware or software), and/or marketing fields.

As for my language credentials, I have passed the JLPT N1 exam. My educational history includes a B.A., summa cum laude, in philosophy in addition to an M.A. in the same field.

I am available 20-25 hours a week, and I'm willing to be flexible with my hours. I respect punctually and thoroughness to the same degree as the Japanese, and I plan to form a successful long-term relationship on the basis of these qualities.

Thank you for your consideration,
Mark Selzer
