academic secondary school Explanation: 1. A Realgymnasium is a secondary school with a focus on math and science. http://www.proz.com/kudoz/german_to_english/education_pedago... 2. An Oberstufengymnasium is the gymnasiale Oberstufe, i.e. the top three grades of secondary school: 11th, 12th and 13th. 3. We do have grammar schools in the US, but they are primary schools. 4. I usually translate Gymnasium as academic secondary school and I think that's how I'd translate your term, leaving out all the specifics. |
