Spanish to English translations [PRO]
Marketing - Business/Commerce (general)
Spanish term or phrase: envíos
Hi everyone, this may seem a simple question but I'm struggling to find a single translation for "envíos" in English. It's in a situation when we can't use the verb instead. Here are some examples from the text (computer systems for 'mailing' products).

120.000 envíos multicanal (email-sms-print) on demand al año.

gestiona todo el proceso de vida de una comunicación multicanal a cliente, desde el diseño hasta el envío

1,2 MM de envíos físicos anuales + 200.000 envíos online por correo electrónico y gráficos en pantalla

I've used "deliveries" so far but I'm not 100% convinced. For me "mailing" sounds good but is more a campaign than an individual "envío"; "campaign" could work at times but suggests a whole load of "envíos"; "messages" doesn't cut it for me....

Could someone give me a hand?

Many thanks!!!

Messages

Explanation:
I know you weren't convinced about this one, and for want of an exact translation, I feel it is actually the best choice in English. "Message" also refers to what the brand is actually trying to communicate, and even though it is doing so cross channel, the actual message remains the same.

This article uses this term and tranmits this concept:

mailings

Explanation:
The plural "mailings" can be used to denote actual instances of the action of "mailing".

mailing: the act of mailing something
something (such as a letter or an advertisement) that is mailed to many people at one time

To be removed from our RedPlum postal mailings, please fill out the form below.

It takes approximately five(5) to six(6) weeks to completely stop receiving RedPlum mailings. This is because mailing labels are often printed in advance of mail distribution dates.

Maybe you're overthinking it. If you look at it like that, then "envíos" could also be seen as ambiguous (particularly when we're talking about email, as one push of a button can send it to thousands of recipients). Nevertheless, your first impression is that it refers to individual communications.
1.2 billion mailing campaigns would be an awful lot in one year, don't you think?

Taking Ana Claudia's idea of searching with "multichannel", you can also find mailing used with it, although message is more common.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks for the answer. My only doubt is when the text quantifies "envíos", as in "120,000 envíos". Could it not be ambiguous as mailing suggests a campaign of several individual mails, whereas here it is referring to the number of "envíos", or communications...

Peer comments on this answer (and responses from the answerer)
agree  philgoddard: I don't think there's any ambiguity - as you say, the meaning is obvious from the context.

Reference information:
I think that the clue is in the adjective *multicanal* that modifies the noun (and provides the context) and not in the word *envíos* alone.
When I looked up for this type of *envíos multicanal*, *multichannel messaging* and *message* appeared to be the choice of all companies working on the sector to express *envíos*.
