Por favor si me pueden ayudar definir en inglés, qué son "MEDICAMENTOS ÉTICOS"?

Contexto es de la fabricación y comercializacion de medicmentos y productos pharmaceuticos en latinoamerica.

Algunas referencias parece que los agrupa con los medicamentos "OTC" (Over the Counter), los cuales no requiren receta del médico, pero en otras referencias dice que si los medicamentos éticos requieren receta médica. Cómo se definen y cual seria la traducción en inglés?
